Originally from Ireland, he first came to Argentina in 1999 and has a degree in History and Political Science from the National University of Ireland and a Master's degree in ELT from the University of Reading in the UK. He has been responsible for general courses mainly in English, writing courses for PhD and MSc. students and writing clinics, in many places and institutions including universities in Korea, the Netherlands and Argentina.  He hopes that he is not the only opponent of the McDonaldisation of language teaching.
